Graduate Life at UTD

Graduate Dean’s Student Advisory Group

The Graduate Dean’s Student Advisory Group (GDSAG) comprises master’s and PhD student appointees from all seven schools at UT Dallas. This group provides student perspective and feedback on Office of Graduate Education (OGE) initiatives. Students are nominated by their schools in the fall and serve for one year (fall, spring, summer). For more information, contact Ruth Schemmer, assistant dean for graduate student success.

Student Organizations

Graduate Student Assembly

The Graduate Student Assembly (GSA) is a student-led organization serving as the voice of graduate students on campus. They organize social and professional events for graduate students such as game night and networking workshops. On the GSA’s Blackboard organization on eLearning, you can find documents related to past and upcoming meetings, forms to provide feedback and a forum to engage in discussions. Follow the GSA on Facebook and Instagram.

Black Graduate Student Association

The Black Graduate Student Association provides a network for all graduate students of the Black/African Diaspora to be supported through the completion of their degree and promote academic excellence. This organization creates opportunities for social activities, leadership, professional development and mentoring.

Visit the student organization directory to find school-level graduate student organizations and other groups.
