Faculty and researchers in the School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences (EPPS) examine the implications of innovation and change in society. Graduate students in EPPS develop the research and analytical skills needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving, highly competitive job market, and have the chance to work with professors who are probing complex issues. EPPS will prepare students for doctoral studies, as well as careers in local, city, state, and federal government, non-profit and private sectors, and enable them to make a real difference in the world of today and tomorrow. Several of the graduate programs in EPPS are highly ranked in U.S. News and World Report rankings and many of the faculty have received awards and recognition for their research and teaching.

Highlights:

  • U.S. News and World Report ranked UT Dallas graduate programs in Economics, Political Science, and Public Affairs among the top 100 in the nation, with the criminology program being ranked #15.
  • The Criminology program has been ranked in the top five nationally in terms of faculty research productivity.
  • The Geospatial Information Sciences program offers the only Master’s of Science in GIS in the country.
  • EPPS graduate students have close mentoring relationships and research collaborations with grant-supported research faculty.
  • Opportunities are plentiful for collaboration, teaching, and interdisciplinary study as well as exchange programs in Germany and Mexico.
