The Office of Graduate Education

School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics

The School of Natural Sciences & Mathematics is focused on providing an excellent graduate education within our six departments. At UT Dallas you will face many exciting and rewarding challenges, you will find yourself breaking new intellectual ground and contributing to the academic discussion in your field. An important development in science and mathematics is the blurring of the boundaries of various disciplines. One of our goals is to promote an environment in which students can readily cross traditional boundaries and engage in studies that involve collaboration between biological, physical, and mathematical scientists. This interdisciplinary approach prepares our graduate students for the multifaceted challenges of science in the future.

Highlights:

  • NSM is built on a foundation that joins public and private sectors, and students reap benefits through internships and research experiences.
  • Our theme is the seamless integration of the sciences and mathematics, a multidisciplinary approach that opens the path to discovering scientific breakthroughs and innovative problem solving.
  • In 2015, Dr. Aziz Sancar (PhD’77) became the first alumnus in the University’s history to win the Nobel Prize.
