Recorded Workshops

Online recordings of past workshops (available through Webex):

  • Fellowships/Grant Overview for Graduate Students and Postdocs (recorded Aug. 28, 2018)
  • Finding Fellowships for International Students (recorded Sept. 26, 2018)
  • Funding for Masters Students
  • Grant Writing Certificate Program

This program is designed to help students acquire the knowledge and practice the skills necessary to succeed in today’s competitive grant writing environment. Graduate students and post-doctoral associates who complete a series of requirements receive a certificate attesting to their training and experience in grant writing. Start by discovering how to apply key funding research tools in a practical manner and recognize factors contributing to successful funding efforts in all subject areas. Then, use this information and write your own grant proposal and review other proposals to experience how grant narrative elements can influence funders’ decisions.

    Who Should Register?

This certificate series is specifically designed for graduate students and postdocs who need to understand all phases of the grant writing process to achieve their career goals, including the composition and practical application of their own grant proposal.

Participants in this program should be prepared to do a lot of writing.

In order to receive the certificate, students will be required to complete several sessions on funding, attend a minimum number of workshops and events and draft a grant application. Successful completion of the certificate program may take more than one semester.
