Virtual Workshops and Events: The Office of Graduate Education is hosting several online workshops, panel discussions, and other events this semester. You can find a listing of these workshops on our events page.

Graduate Fellowship Services provides resources to help graduate students and postdoctoral scholars find and apply for external funding, whether it be for fellowships/scholarships or research grants. For more information see:

Graduate Readers work directly with doctoral and master's students in their final semester, checking their dissertations for formatting and helping them to ensure that their dissertations are of the highest quality possible.

Graduate Writing Services provides writing guidance for less technical documents, such as personal statements, essays for class, and various application forms.



Virtual Tools and Software for Remote Learning

MS Teams is a web-based platform that allows effective collaboration by streamlining the entire meeting process. MS Teams has no restrictions for students, making it a popular option for those who want to host their own meetings. The Office of Information Technology has good guides on how to set up a meeting in Teams whether you are setting it up through Outlook or Teams directly.

Zoom provides audio and audio/video conferencing with screen-sharing and text chat features, especially for small and large groups. Zoom meetings will need to be hosted on paid subscription accounts as the free version only allows for a 40-minute meeting.

eLearning is UTD’s Learning Management System where students can find course materials, organizations, and announcements all online.

Blackboard Collaborate Ultra through eLearning is a web conferencing software that is available to all faculty, staff and students. Conferences need to be setup within a course or organization in eLearning. However attendees do not need to login to eLearning to participate. The host can also invite guests (those without a UTD account) to participate as well. Blackboard Collaborate supports up to 250 synchronous users in a session.

LinkedIn Learning offers UT Dallas students free, unlimited access to Lynda.com, which offers thousands of training videos on graphic design, entrepreneurship, finance, personal development and much more.
